RAINY DAYS

RAINY DAYS

Cold, wet, windy days, spring seems to be hiding. The ground is saturated and we’ve lost quite a few waterlogged gum trees in the windy conditions. You can hear them crashing down often taking other trees with them as they fall. Most of the alpacas have hunkered down in their shelters - poor things I think like us they are well and truly over the rain.

It is so tempting to sit by the fire and work on different projects on these days. Loving how one of our cream 8 ply yarns is coming together in this woven scarf.

And our 4 ply ‘Billy’ yarn feels so soft and snuggly for this baby’s jacket. The pattern is from an ‘old’ Patons book, knitted in one piece to the armhole. It is a lovely design, easy to follow and has a matching bonnet.

I love these traditional baby patterns and knitting with a finer yarn and smaller size needles. Pretty little picot edge goes around both the bonnet and jacket.

Despite the wet weather we have managed to begin work on the new driveway and it is starting to take shape. It has been cut and graded and the grid at the front entry put in place. We have planted 20 trees either side and once the weather improves and things dry out we will be able to organize some gravel.

Just have to keep these guys away from the new trees………

Hopefully with so much feed around they won’t find them so appealing!
