About us

Alstonefield Farm is located in the Oberon area, part of the beautiful Central Tablelands of NSW. We enjoy the advantages of a cooler climate – magnificent displays of autumn colour and spring bulbs, mild summers and snow in winter. Our farm is nestled in a picturesque valley and we are surrounded by gentle rolling hills that are lightly timbered. We have an abundant supply of water through several spring fed dams and a creek that rambles through our property. We run cattle and alpacas, have two resident geese and some chooks – Reggie and his girls.

Our alpacas are bred for their gentle temperament, outstanding genetics and sound confirmation. This has enabled us to establish our small family-run business utilising the fleece from our herd to produce quality Australian handcrafted woven and knitted alpaca products, kits and yarns. The inspiration for many of our designs originates from the variety of natural colours within our herd. These range from striking blacks through to misty greys, exquisite soft browns and creams.

Our aim is to provide our customers with beautifully finished handcrafted items as well as superior yarns and supplies to create their own masterpieces. Recently we have introduced some stunning dyed alpaca yarns into several of our patterns to further broaden and enhance our creative options.

We hope our range of scarves, hats, blankets, shawls and yarns will entice you to experience and enjoy the softness and warmth of the luxurious natural fibre of alpacas.
